Saturday 5th October saw the return of the Lancashire & Cheshire Woodcarvers showcase.

This is the opportunity for the members to display their carvings, showing the diversity and wide range of styles and skills within the club.

This is our first showcase at the Rochdale Ukrainian Centre and our display stand were supplemented with a cake stall and three or four stall selling gifts.

The showcase ran from 11am to 3pm and we had a steady stream of visitor throughout the day.

In early afternoon the Mayor of Rochdale visited spending a good hour with us.

One of the aims of the showcase is to allow possible future members to come and see and chat with members, there were a number of interested people, we hope to see them in the future.

We had our usual great selection of carvings by our members.   The mayor of Rochdale came round and was very impressed.  He said that carving was one of the skills that was being lost and only kept alive by such clubs as ours.   Below are some of our stalwarts with their work
